Station Café

Laughter is not for me; Leave me silent.
I need to be lonely, to feel alone.
Your smiles, excitement, cries of delight;
I cannot share, and nor do I wish to,
Secluded amid such untroubled crowds.
He has departed, yet he haunts me still.
Silent, distant, I stare into my cup -
My cooling coffee stares back his brown eyes.
He is gone, but I remain here alone:
I cannot weep, cannot cry for my loss.

I cannot weep, cannot cry for my loss -
He is gone, but I remain here alone.
My cooling coffee stares back his brown eyes;
Silent, distant, I stare into my cup.
He has departed, yet he haunts me still.
Secluded amid such untroubled crowds,
I cannot share, and nor do I wish to,
Your smiles, excitement, cries of delight.
I need to be lonely, to feel alone:
Laughter is not for me;
Leave me silent.
