I am a full-time comedy writer and performer, always looking for further opportunities. I have experience of writing sketches, verses, gags, slogans, songs, stand up comedy and sitcoms. I also enjoy writing articles, humorous or not, and teaching other writers. The About Me page gives you more idea of what I do.
Wed 7 Oct 09 Tonight I'm teaching a Comedy Writing Workshop at Reading Library. I believe it's full, so it should be fun - lots of eager comedy writers is always good. This year it's the only part I've got in the annual Reading Comedy Festival. The festival's got some good line-ups, though, so well worth checking out their schedule if you're anywhere near, and like comedy. Wed 2 Sep 09 Safely back from the Edinburgh Fringe - had a brilliant time, caught up with old friends, met loads more cool people, and picked up my (very light) Malcolm Hardee Cunning Stunt Award 2008. All in all, a good festival for me. Thu 13 Aug 09 Adding to the collection of newspapers I've been in, I am one of around 80 female comedians who were featured on page 4 (so nearly a page 3 girl!) of yesterday's Times. The piece was about the gender balance in comedy, and the photoshoot was brilliant fun. I'm hoping to see the main group shot appear somewhere too. On that, I'm just in front of Lucy Porter. (For anyone struggling to find me, I'm 3 across and 4 down.) It's also on The Times website, although the picture there is missing another 5 rows of comics! How many MPs does it take to change a lightbulb? None, but a family member will do it for 10 grand. |
